Youth Social Press (YSP) is a youth-led media NGO that uses storytelling, film, and creative education to empower young Africans to shape narratives, change mindsets, and build sustainable futures. Our mission is to transform the creative potential of African youth into structured opportunities for learning, employment, and social transformation through evidence-based entertainment and hands-on experience.
Our approach is backed by global research. Edutainment models proven to change knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours on HIV, gender, and health. We use the same evidence-based strategies — combining entertainment with measurable impact.
Ghana is the world’s second-largest cocoa producer, contributing 20% of the global supply and generating over $2 billion annually. Yet, behind the prosperity of this billion-dollar industry lies a harsh reality: extreme poverty among cocoa-producing communities, particularly in the Asante and Western North regions. Despite their critical role in sustaining this industry, many cocoa farmers live on less than $1 per day, far below the international poverty line.
Our team conducts interviews with leaders, business and government officials, media personalities, as well as the public on important social, political, economic and environmental issues.
Youth Social Press has a radio show hosted on Legon Cities Radio, in Accra, Ghana. The show is stimulates dialogue on issues such as gender based violence, health and wellness, relationships, among others.
Themed movies are shot by young people in our team with the help of skilled professionals. Young people are also involved in editing and production, as well as curation of the content on our social pages.
